VMD Systems Integrators, Inc. Receives SAFETY Act Designation

Aluma would like to congratulate our client VMD Systems Integrators, Inc. for achieving SAFETY Act Designation for its Screening Partnership Program Services, Airport Passenger and Baggage Screening Services. We thank VMD Systems Integrators, Inc. for entrusting us with driving their successful pursuit of SAFETY Act from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Screening Partnership Program Services, Airport Passenger and Baggage Screening Services are related to VMD Systems Integrators, Inc.’s participation in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA’s) Screening Partnership Program (SPP). Their SAFETY Act Designation includes coverage for trained and certified personnel who conduct passenger, airport employee, and baggage screening in accordance with TSA guidelines and standard operating procedures.

The SPP allows commercial airports in the United States to opt out of federal screening and instead use private screening companies, while still maintaining TSA oversight and security standards. These private firms must comply with all TSA security regulations and their screeners receive equivalent training and follow the same procedures as TSA officers. The program aims to provide flexibility and the potential for increased efficiency in airport security operations, while maintaining the TSA's stringent security protocols.
