National Hockey League awarded SAFETY Act Designation by DHS for its NHL Arena Security Standards Program
February 26, 2025: National Hockey League Receives SAFETY Act Designation
Aluma would like to congratulate our client, the National Hockey League, for successfully achieving SAFETY Act Designation for its NHL Arena Security Standards Program. Aluma is proud to have served the NHL in its pursuit of their SAFETY Act award from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This SAFETY Act Designation is a league-wide award that recognizes the National Hockey League for its comprehensive set of security standards and best practices for arena security at NHL events, supported by the NHL assessment and security training program. The SAFETY Act Designation includes development and update of the NHL Requirements for Arena Security and other security operations plans, policies, procedures, and recommendations provided to NHL Clubs and Arena Operators; the NHL Security Operations Center for intelligence analysis and dissemination; the processes for recruiting, screening, and training NHL personnel and vetting and selection of third-party consultants. With this award, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security recognizes the significant efforts that the National Hockey League have made to keep fans safe.
