Aluma Founder & CEO, Akmal Ali, is proud to have been selected by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to assist its Office of Access and Functional Needs (AFN) in the development of its newly released guide titled, "Integrating AFN within Large Venue Safety & Security Operations". AFN includes individuals with disabilities, chronic conditions, language barriers, older adults, children, and other vulnerable groups.

Integrating AFN into Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) is essential for ensuring the safety and dignity of all guests at large venues, especially during high-profile events like the Olympics or World Cup. This guide, developed with input from security professionals and experts, offers best practices and resources to help venue operators create inclusive plans that meet the needs of diverse communities. This guide highlights the inclusive practices and procedures large venues can implement to establish a safe and secure environment for all guests before, during, and after the events they host.
